PRACTICAL TRAINING IN COLLABORATIVE CENTERS
The purpose of the practical training program is to show how the departments function and to give theoretical and practical knowledge about the decontamination and handling of medical devices by bringing together the members of national societies in a well established CSSD. The WFHSS – which dedicates itself to help that Medical devices are applied to the patients at the highest quality by means of instruments, departments, staff and managers at the highest quality – is confident of the importance and the usefulness of this program for improving decontamination activities all over the world.
National societies which dedicate their selves to improve sterilization activities in their countries and in the world, and want to be one of the hosts for the program shall apply to WFHSS by filling the nomination form and sending it to the WFHSS Secretary. National societies nominating a collaborative centre shall send a detailed report about the centre including education level of the responsible person, capacity of the department, machines, packaging methods, daily numbers of sets and operations, number of staff etc.

Attendees without WFHSS grant
It is also possible to join a practical training course without WFHSS grant. In this case all of the expenses of the attendees including transportation, accommodation, food etc. has to be paid by himself/herself or his/her own society
The practical training course checklist has to be filled in and signed by the responsible person of the collaborative centre. The attendees have to write an official report to the secretary of the WFHSS within one month following the course to explain what they did, what they learnt and how they are going to use the knowledge they got. A copy of the signed checklist has to be sent together with the report.
