Dear family and friends of the World Federation of Hospital Sterilisation Sciences!
The WFHSS dedicates itself to the promotion of worldwide harmonization of standards and the recognition of sterilisation departments all over the world.
We also support the highest possible quality in reprocessing of medical devices in our CSSD’s worldwide, ensuring every patient’s and co-worker’s right to be treated or work with safe and reliable cleaned, disinfected and sterilized medical devices.
Our mission is:
- To promote education and training for the CSSD staff.
- To facilitate international cooperation and knowledge exchange between CSSD staff, researchers and our partners of industry.
- To develop and disseminate guidelines and standards for the reprocessing of medical devices.
- To develop E-learnings.
- To support and publish research and innovation in the field of reprocessing of medical devices.
- To support “Green Projects” to reduce the carbon footprint of the hospitals all over the world.
We realize that with the changing geopolitical situation, not everywhere all over the world the situation is the same.
We acknowledge the efforts of our colleagues in the field, which they make under sometimes difficult circumstances, to provide their patients with the best possible treatment within the available possibilities.
When we look into the future, with all the challenges and opportunities we will face, the CSSD’s will become even more the beating heart of our hospitals!
Without a good and well-functioning CSSD, no hospital can function and no patients can be treated.
Therefore, on behalf of the dedicated Executive Committee, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for doing an outstanding job and although our patients won’t see you, also a big thank you on behalf of them!
