I’ve experienced endoscope washers worldwide using 1 water filter per week. This is a waste of time and money. Clogged water filters are causing failed washing procedures and require an immediate response from the technical staff.
The USA, EU, and AU hospitals and clinics are solving the issue by adding a UFM product upstream of their endoscope washers. With an ROI of just a few weeks, this Dutch innovation saves up to 50 water filters per endoscope washer per year!! That means 70-140 KG of plastic per year if you have 7 endoscope washers in your department.
That’s just the ‘Green’ part of it. This new technology also increased patient safety as it filters the water down to 0,015 microns, removing bacteria, sediment, and colloids. The product is tested LOG 6 on bacteria and LOG 4 on viruses.
