KRA 1 – Customer Service – RMD are made available to Operating Theatres in a timely manner.
KPI 1 – How many cases were cancelled or delayed due to non availability of RMD from CSSD.
KPI 2 – How many ‘adverse incident reports’ were filed by the operating theatres.
KRA 2 – Patient Safety & Infection Control
KPI 1 – How many IC related issues were traced to CSSD processing.
KPI 2 – Internal & External Audit reports.
KRA 3 – Occupational Health & Safety
KPI 1 – Management of chemical hazards, eg. ETO leaks, gluteraldehyde spills etc.
KPI 2 – Management of physical hazards, eg. handling of heavy crates and sets etc.
KPI 3 – Safety checks of all pressure vessels and electrical equipment.
KRA 4 – Cost of Production
KPI 1 – Effective agreements with maintenance service providers (Sterilisers, washer disinfectors, instrument repairs etc)
KPI 2 – Procurement contracts with instrument manufacturers.
KPI 3 – Systems are future proof.
KRA 5 – Quality Management Systems
KPI 1 – Internal & External Audit reports.
KPI 2 – Tracking systems & SOPs
KPI 3 – Staff training systems
While the KRAs for the department would be the same, the KPIs would differ for the CSSD Manager, the Supervisors, the technicians etc.
