Compressed Air Drying

« Back to Previous Page

Hi there,

I’m struggling to find anything in either Australian or International standards regarding the use of compressed air for blowing/drying lumens either pre or post processing via Washer Disinfector.

There appears to be some limited or vague data regarding its use for flexible endoscopes.

Is there anything out there or am I using the incorrect terminology when searching?

Kind regards,

Simon Moon

Dear Simon.
Your question is very technical. In ISO 15883-1-2008 point 4.5 you can find all information about quality of drying in WD machine.
As I know in WD compressed air using not for all machines and only for open/close doors. In drying process special blower take air from the room, air passing thru HEPA filter and heating element and going to washing sprinklers. This type of air –there is not compressed air (not 3-4-6-8 Bar), just air after blower. Unfortunately all air with pressure higher than atmospheric – is compressed air.
Hope it’s help. Petr Demidov, Moscow, Russia.
