Dear Zeibot.

There are no standard programs for WD and steam sterilizers in different countries. It’s depending from local standards in each country. Usually all WD that we use in CSSD are produce under ISO 15883 part 1 and 2. One of the main program on WD based on Vario TD program that was create by Miele company in 1979. This program consist from first rinse, Main wash with detergent, neutralization, intermediate rinse, final rinse with OR water and drying. Time of this program can be 1 hour 20 minutes till 1 hour 30 min. If we are use in WD additional vessels for heating the water- time of cycle can be 1 hour. A lot of manufacturers create and validate original programs for WD and use different detergents.
If we are speaking about steam sterilizers – they are produced under EN 285. Mainly steam sterilizers must to work on program consisting from air evacuation, heating, sterilization, steam evacuation and drying. Time of sterilization cycle can be from 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 min. A lot of steam sterilizers are have minimum 5 programs (1340C-5 min, 1210C-20 min, Bowie Dick test, Vacuum test and heating program) Time and temperature of steam sterilization are depend from local standards in each country.

Hope it,s help

Dear Zeibod,
I can add to the previous answer, that programs in WD are also based on Ao theory which refers to thermal disinfection and the time of process depends on the Ao level that you want achieve. You can find the information about Ao theory in the First Level Script, published in different languages on WFHSS website.
Talking about the sterilization time – the whole cycle, you should n`t forgot that it depends on the product that you want to sterilize, also on the type of machine you have and the demands, for example if you have to deactivate prions you need 18 min of the sterilization time. One remark, my friend Petr writing 1340, 1210, thought 134 degree C, 121 degree C.
